Dans l'amphith\u00e9\u00e2tre Flavien, l'ar\u00e8ne la plus c\u00e9l\u00e8bre du monde antique, se d\u00e9roulaient des combats de gladiateurs (munera), des spectacles de chasse (venationes) et, au d\u00e9but, \u00e9galement des batailles navales. des ex\u00e9cutions avaient \u00e9galement lieu dans l'ar\u00e8ne, mais il n'y a aucune preuve historique que des chr\u00e9tiens y aient \u00e9t\u00e9 martyris\u00e9s.<\/p><p>Les d\u00e9monstrations \u00e9taient diverses, parfois cruelles, parfois rappelant des spectacles de cirque avec des animaux dress\u00e9s.<\/p><p>En tout \u00e9tat de cause, chaque prestation a n\u00e9cessit\u00e9 une organisation importante et a engendr\u00e9 des co\u00fbts tr\u00e8s \u00e9lev\u00e9s.<\/p><p>Pendant les jeux, le colis\u00e9e accueillait sur ses gradins une foule immense, pr\u00eate \u00e0 assister avec avidit\u00e9 et excitation \u00e0 des spectacles extraordinaires.... essayez d'imaginer plus de 50 000 spectateurs qui n'\u00e9taient pas \"dans leur peau\" et qui se d\u00e9lectaient du sang des gladiateurs et de la f\u00e9rocit\u00e9 des b\u00eates....<\/p><p>Nous, aujourd'hui, nous nous complaisons dans le silence du colis\u00e9e, dans son atmosph\u00e8re nocturne et dans le moment o\u00f9 il s'illumine chaque fois qu'une peine capitale est suspendue dans le monde. nous l'aimons ainsi aujourd'hui, m\u00eame sans ses beaux marbres, purifi\u00e9s par le temps.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Les Ludis Les jeux (ludus) ou f\u00eates \u00e9taient \u00e0 l'origine, pour les Romains, une sorte de c\u00e9r\u00e9monie religieuse, un rite accompli pour s'attirer la bienveillance des dieux, dans un but propitiatoire ou comm\u00e9moratif.
