How to get to the Colosseum by Car
Getting to the Colosseum by car is not an option for reaching the tourist attraction, as the area around the monument is very busy.
However, if you have to go to the Colosseum by car, there are some pay car parks nearby.
The most functional car parks are
- Colosseum Park Service: 4€ per hour
- Colosseum Park: 8€ for 2 hours
- Supergarage Metronio: €22.93 per day
A much more recommended option is to park your car outside the historical centre of Rome in the ATAC interchange car parks. These are very functional and inexpensive car parks. From there, you only need to take the metro to travel inside Rome.
If instead you want to venture into Rome by car, we recommend the Termini station car parkas from there the Colosseum can be reached in about 20 minutes on foot or by metro.
Alternatively, there are a number of pay car parks located in different parts of the city, which you may find useful depending on your starting position and your intended travel route.
However, if you are planning a visit to Rome and the Colosseum, I advise you to use public transport such as the metro, the bus as the streets in the centre are crowded with traffic and parking the car can be a rather inconvenient experience.
