Imperial Forums
The Roman Forums of the Imperial Age, monumental squares in the centre of the city.
The imperial forums are a set of monumental squares built by emperors over a period of about 150 years (between 46 BC and 113 AD).
In the centre of the Roman city.
These squares were used for administrative activities and ceremonies, they were considered celebratory and ceremonial spaces appropriate to the imperial reality.
The Roman forum (the old republican square), on the other hand, dates back to the age of kings (6th century B.C.) and was considered the political, economic and religious centre of Rome for centuries.
Imperial architecture reached very high levels with the construction of these extraordinary monumental complexes, especially because of the richness of the decorative and sculptural apparatus.
Visiting the Roman forums can be a unique and fascinating experience. Passing through them, walking among the ruins, admiring what has remained intact for centuries can envelop every person in a special and unique atmosphere.
