Why book guided tours?
Booking guided tours is a good choice for those who want to maximise their time and enjoy a more in-depth sightseeing experience. With a guided tour, an experienced guide will take you through the entire arena tour and also grant you access to the part of the Colosseum that is closed to self-guided visitors: the Colosseum's underground area. In addition, many guided tours also include priority access without queues, which saves you valuable time and you do not have to wait in line under the sun.
Why buy tickets and tours?
Buying tickets and tours in advance allows you to avoid queues and secure access on the desired dates and times. In addition, there are often special offers online or packages that include several tourist attractions. Buying tickets and tours at the arena in advance also allows you to better organise your trip and have an overview of the costs to be incurred in advance, avoiding unwelcome surprises.
How long does the visit take?
It will take at least an hour to visit the Colosseum alone, which includes time to explore the monument and take some photos and selfies. Covering other attractions such as the Roman Forum and the Palatine Hill will take 3 hours. The time needed to visit these monuments also depends on the type of tour chosen. Guided tours usually take longer than visiting on your own.

- The best time to visit the Colosseum would be between November and March for a more pleasant climate and fewer tourists.
